01 March 2018 | Irish rugby international Rob Kearney and National Spring Clean ambassador Sarah McGovern, kicked off the National Spring Clean 2018 with a nationwide call to volunteers and communities across Ireland to register for this year’s anti-litter campaign.

Throughout the month of April, The National Spring Clean will bring together communities throughout the country to tackle the problem of litter in local areas. This initiative is organised by An Taisce and supported by the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment.

Sarah McGovern, National Spring Clean Ambassador, commented:

“At its 20th Anniversary, we are calling on the communities of Ireland to spring into action and join the fight against litter. The terrific support that the National Spring Clean continues to receive ever year from local residents, community groups and businesses, is a testament to the community spirit that this initiative fosters. Importantly, everyone can get involved – all you need to do is register with the National Spring Clean 2018, receive your free clean-up kit, and commit some of your time and energy to collecting litter in your local area. It’s that simple.”
